The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) will this week lead contractors through a tour of the planned Joint Public Safety Training Campus on the West Side—known to opponents as the "cop academy."
The PBC had previously issued two requests for proposals, asking contractors to perform "design-build" services for each of the campus's Phase 01A, "Outlot Restaurant Area," and Phase 02, "Outdoor Scenario Structures." The campus will reside at 4443 W. Chicago Ave.
When completed, the campus would provide training and education for staff of both the Chicago Police Dept. and the Chicago Fire Dept.
According to the PBC, it will conduct a site visit for prospective contractors on Thursday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m.
